While cleaning of municipal waste water, fats and slurries incur during the different cleaning process steps. These will be fermented in hermetically sealed digestion towers (as sort of biochemical reactors) by methane-producing bacteria. Thus, energy-rich sewage gas is produced which (like biogas and landfill gas) is used for power generation.

However, sewage gas can contain trace substances which increase wear during the process of engine-based utilisation. Mostly you find siloxanes. These silicon compounds act like sand and cause strong wear and tear to engine components. To eliminate siloxane from the combustion gas, we offer our successful combined solution [H2S-problematic in Biogas]. Hereby, wear will be reduced significantly.
